It’s been a decade since the first issue of Vs. Magazine came out. To celebrate the big 10, we’re returning to the crux, the raison d’etre of Vs. Going against the grain, producing narrative, cinematic editorials in a fashion world of studio shots and vague themes. Naturally, issue 20 is titled ‘Versus,’ as we look even closer at our founding principles.
We have two covers, one starring Bella Heathcote, and the other starring Sasha Luss – plus one secret special edition. Photographed by Ellen von Unwerth and Hugh Lippe, respectively, there’s no way you won’t be immediately hooked on these girls. But this, as they say, is just the tip of the iceberg. Watch out for the full issue, and their very sexy cover stories…
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies stars Bella Heathcote and Douglas Booth have their zombie apocalypse strategy down…
Pride and Prejudice has been adapted to the screen many, many times before, but Pride and Prejudice and Zombies marks the first time the Bennet sisters must count the undead amongst their most pressing problems.
We had a chance to sit down with two of the film’s stars — British actor Douglas Booth, who plays Mr. Bingley, and Australian actress Bella Heathcote, who plays Jane Bennet — to chat about what it’s like to fill such iconic roles while fighting off zombie attackers. Here’s what they had to say…
EXCLUSIVE: Bella Heathcote has been set to join the cast of Fifty Shades Darker, the second installment of the trilogy based on E L James’ worldwide bestselling Fifty Shades Of Grey book series. Heathcote, who starred in Dark Shadows, opens today in Pride And Prejudice And Zombies. James Foley is directing both Fifty Shades Darker and Fifty Shades Freed with Niall Leonard adapting the screenplay for the next two films. Heathcote joins Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, who return as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele. Kim Basinger was recently set as well. Heathcote will play Leila, a former lover of Christian, who bears the scars to prove it.
Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti return alongside James to produce, and Marcus Viscidi is also a producer. Fifty Shades Darker is scheduled for release on February 10, 2017, after the first film grossed $560 million worldwide.
The Australian actress — who will next be seen in the Nicolas Winding Refn-directed The Neon Demon opposite Elle Fanning and Keanu Reeves — is repped by WME and JM Agendy in Australia; More/Medavoy Management; and Sloane, Offer, Weber and Dern.

BELLA HEATHCOTE TAKES ON SPRING’S MOST VALUABLE PRINT
It’s safe to say that Pride and Prejudice and Zombies isn’t your average Jane Austen corset drama, and it turns out the film’s star Bella Heathcote also subverts all of our assumptions, too. Despite the fact that the 28-year-old Australian actress looks like a Georgian-era lady of the manor (thanks to her flawless, milky complexion and wide, doll-like eyes), in real life Heathcote is anything but a delicate flower.
When Heathcote arrived at the Beverly Hills estate of her Who What Wear shoot, we have to admit we were a bit taken aback. A string of period dramas and feminine red carpet looks led us to believe we were dealing with someone of a girlish nature. But as the Australian actress pulled up in a muscle car dressed in head-to-toe black, we knew she wasn’t the innocent we so naively drew up in our minds. Instead, we were greeted by the real Bella: cool, confident, and witty. She is (dare we say it?) the true embodiment of a rose with thorns—beautiful but tough.
